Secretary/Treasurer: (Judi Divan) Motion to accept July minutes as posted.
MSP  No Treasurer's report.

Coach Representative: (Bill Voigt)

1. From the USAS Convention: USA Swimming has adopted the ban on technical
suits as of October 1.  Only suits that conform to what is essentially the
current SCS age group rule (textile suits, for boys from navel to knee, for
girls from shoulder to knee, no neoprene, no zippers, no fasteners) will be
allowed in competition.  A copy of the USA Swimming Rules Committee document
outlining the new rule is posted on the SCS web site.

2. Congratulations to Coach Bill Rose (MVN) who was named Development Coach of
the Year by USA Swimming at the Convention.

3. SCS Fall Clinic will be held October 4 (all day). This year's clinic will
consist of the Pacific Institute's Leadership Seminar, "Pathways to Extreme
Success" presented by Brian Goodell.  This Seminar comes highly recommended
by those who have participated in it.  It was presented to the National Team
Coaches last year in Colorado Springs, and several local teams have offered
   it to their athletes.

Senior Representative: (Jeri Marshburn)  The USA Swimming age group committee
is starting some IMX Extreme Meets.   There will be 2 meets in our zone--one
at Mt. Hood and the other in Arizona at Brophy.  These are 14&Under meets.
Boys need a score of 2000 to enter and girls need a score of 2100.  The meet
at BEST-AZ is in December.

Age Group Representative: (Rod Hansen) The September NOVA meet has grown in
size over the past few years and it may be time to consider this being a
double host meet weekend for Orange Committee.  The meet was approximately
1000 swimmers this year.

Officials Representative: (Richard Davis)  We need to encourage more parents
on Orange Committee teams to become trained as officials.  We have lost some
officials who have had to move out of the area to find work because of the
economy.

John Montrella, representing the CIF Assigners, spoke about High School
League Championships and the number of requests for an observed meet.  For
each observed meet, there must be two (2) USA Swimming certified officials
and right now there are not enough available.  Encourage parents to train
as Stroke and Turn Officials.  For these meets officials will be compensated
at rate negotiated with host, not at the HS officials rate posted on the SCAF
website.

For information on training as an official, you can contact Richard Davis
at richard.e.davis@gte.net or 714 968-9315 or 949 350-4405.

Review: (Lynda Julson)  There has not been a Review Meeting.

Meet Ops/Registration: (Marilyn Bolton)  Parents need to read all meet forms
and coaches need to explain procedures.  Information on meet forms differs
from meet to meet.

There were approximately 1000 swimmers and 5100 splashes at the NOVA Back-
to-School meet.  The new SCS rule for late registration is in effect NOW,
and all registrations received after the Monday immediately preceeding the
meet are subject to the on-deck registration fee and penalty.

Athlete Representative: (Open)  Piper Marshburn is now away at college and
the Athlete Rep position is open.

Program: (Kim Hoesterey)  The 2010 meet slate was presented. MSP
The next AdHoc meeting will be October 27, 2009 at 7 p.m.  All teams hosting
January, 2010 should plan to attend to discuss their meets.

The GWSC Pumpkin meet will be posted as soon as pool location and certification
issues are resolved.

The sanction number for the AAA December meet is pending.
