Minutes of the June 2009 Orange Committee Board Meeting - Corrected

The June 23, 2009, Orange Committee meeting, at the William Woolett Aquatics
Center, was called to order by the chair at 8:00 PM.  In attendance were
Lynda Julson, Review; Jim Johnson, BREA; Tyler Fenwick, MVN; Bill Voigt, MVN,
Coach Representative; Kelly McClelland, MVN; Steve Pickell, SCAL; Devon Ames,
STOP, Chair; Kim Hoesterey, NOVA, Program Chair; Drew Crowell, NOVA; Judi
Divan, MVN, Secretary/Treasurer.

Secretary/Treasurer: (Judi Divan) Motion to accept May minutes as posted. MSP
A reimbursement request was submitted to SCS for certification of the ORCA
pool.  Please submit all pool certification request to Orange Committee for
board review and approval.

Coach Representative: (Bill Voigt)
  1. At the last SCS Board meeting the 2010 SCS meets were awarded.  A list of
     awarded meets is on the SCS web site.

  2. The deadline to apply for NACC has been extended to Monday, July 6 at
     midnight.

  3. New cuts achieved at meets the weekend before the December 09 WAG meets
     will be accepted on Sunday night through admin at those meets.

  4. The SCS Fall coaches clinic will be Saturday (all day) October 3 and will
     feature the Pacific Institute Leadership Seminar led by Brian Goodell.

  5. Converted times may not be used, even for seeding purposes.  However, the
     board passed a proposal to accept entry of actual times with non-
     conforming times being seeded after conforming times.

  6. FINA issued its new "approved" suit list on Monday-virtually all suits
     are now approved.  This does not affect the SCS suit rule for age group
     competition.

  7. Scholastic All-American applications are due August 1.

Senior Representative: (Jeri Marshburn) Not present.

Age Group Representative: (Rod Hansen) Not present.

Officials Representative: (Richard Davis) Not present.

Review: (Lynda Julson)  There has not been a Review Meeting.

Meet Ops/Registration: (Marilyn Bolton) Not present.

Athlete Representative: (Piper Marshburn)  Not present.

Program: (Kim Hoesterey) The next program meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on
Tuesday, July 28.  We will be discussing upcoming bid procedure.  Teams will
have until September 14 to submit bids on upcoming meets.   The bid meeting
will be September 22.  If a team is not planning on attending a meet or meets,
please notify Kim.

New business--If inviting teams from other areas to an Orange Committee meet,
it must be stated on meet form and both committees must agree.  This does not
apply to out-of-LSC (as opposed to out-of-committee) teams.   Out-of-
LSC teams may attend if their attendance does not impact Orange Committee
teams.  Policy restated in Board of Directors minutes on SCS website.
