Notice to All Administrative Referees

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Please note that there are now two special designations which may be included with SCS numbers when returned to you on a registration check report.  This change goes into effect immediately.

This is new!!: If the SCS number includes ‘#’ after the birth date at the start of the name section, it means that a birth certificate/passport must be presented/verified before the swimmer can swim in a sanctioned age group competition (dual meet, committee level meet, JAG, WAG or JO).  The validation information needs to be included on your report when it is sent to the office at the conclusion of the meet.  Here’s an example for a swimmer named Jane Q Public:

Entered SCS Number: 032592JANQPUBL

Recon SCS Number: 032592#JAQPUBL

Reminder: If the SCS number includes ‘$’ after the birth date at the start of the name section, it means that there is a financial  issue.  You need to contact the office to find out the specifics.  Here’s an example for a swimmer named Jane Q Public:

Entered SCS Number: 032592JANQPUBL

Recon SCS Number: 032592$JAQPUBL

Either of these must be identified on the trouble list that is provided to the SCS office for review prior to the meet.  Any discrepancy on a meet recon report needs to be referred back to the office except spelling in the entry file which may be corrected to match SWIMS.  Please make no assumptions about mismatches.  Send all back for review.
